Voluminous and structured silhouettes, Oversized ruffles, Billowing sleeves, and dramatic shapes. Even all of these descriptive words cannot fully encompass Roger’s magnificent first ready-to-wear collection since being nominated as one of the CFDA/Vogue fashion fund finalists. Always the designer that can encompass print mixing with bold and colorful designs, to showcase his signature style and his commitment to celebrating individuality and self-expression, this collection no doubt magnified those desires while helping him put his stamp on the ready-to-wear fashion sector.

The show opens with Cuban samba music and flows into techno. The un unmistakable hair and fabric choice of this collection definitely gave it away the inspiration before the music did. The color palette was as equally vibrant, with bright hues of pink, orange, iridescent metallics and green dominating the runway.

Throughout the show, Rogers made a point to celebrate diversity and inclusivity, with models of different sizes, shapes, and backgrounds walking the runway. The show was a testament to Rogers’ commitment to using fashion as a means of self-expression and empowerment, and his willingness to push boundaries and break conventions in pursuit of his creative vision.

A dazzling display of color, shape, and innovation, we at NM are awe-struck.

    Details We Love

There truly wasn’t just one or two details that jumped out at our editorial staff, everything was done so well, with such innovation and a whimsical way that we’d have to post the entire collection here. The tailoring on the suit in look 3, the pleats, various yokes, the ruffles, the wearability of it all, and styling potentials!

“I am even more certain that to create dangerously is also to create fearlessly, boldly embracing the public and private terrors that would silence us, then bravely moving forward even when it feels as though we are chasing or being chased by ghosts”

    – Edwidge Danticat
