When Bri Milandro tweeted “The Yee-Haw Agenda” in response to a photoshoot done by singer/songwriter Ciera back in 2019 for King Kong Magazine (pictured above), the tweet set the fashion industry ablaze. The Yee-Haw Agenda is a fashion and lifestyle movement that celebrates the history and culture of Black cowboys of the American West and Southern region, their customs, country living, and all things Black Western.
The Yee-Haw Agenda has been a huge source of inspiration for designers and fashion lovers alike. It has been credited with reviving interest in Western style and making it more mainstream. The trend has been embraced by celebrities and fashion iconoclasts alike. Inspiring designers to create new collections, influenced the way people dress, and experiment with different blue grass musical sounds while expanding the knowledge of African Americans’ long-standing history as Cowboys.
The Yee-Haw Agenda is here to stay and it is sure to continue to have a major impact on the fashion industry for years to come.
